Justine Schnutz

Nursing Activity Manager

If someone had told Justine five years ago that she would one day work on an MSF assignment to fight Ebola, she would have said, «No way!» Yet, in 2014 when the worst Ebola epidemic to date broke out in West Africa, the Swiss nurse from Fribourg simply had to help.

She cared for patients in the MSF Ebola centre in Freetown, Sierra Leone. She donned full protective clothing and went into the high-risk area several times a day to administer medication to patients, feed them and care for them as best as possible in the limited time available. Her greatest motivation was seeing patients recover and feeling the tremendous gratitude of the people.
